In a surprise to many in the industry, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced a deal to enable their virtual agents to work together in a NY Times piece by Nick Wingfield. They have been working on an idea for their two virtual agents to work together for over a year, and it makes a lot of sense. Each of us have different people we seek advice from for different topics, why shouldn’t virtual ones be the same?
By the end of the year, you’ll be able to summon each other’s experiences across devices, enabling thousands of Alexa skills to come to Cortana-enabled devices, and vice versa. Google and Apple are also invited to the party.
